What is eBay Giving Works?
eBay is an online marketplace where buyers and sellers come together. Sellers list items on eBay and choose to either accept bids for the item or allow buyers to purchase the item right away at a fixed price.
eBay Giving Works is an option that enables sellers to donate the final selling price of their item to a nonprofit organization of their choosing. eBay Giving Works listings appear alongside all other "regular" listings on eBay and are distinguished by a ribbon icon
I want to sell an item and donate the proceeds to EWC. How does it work?
If you've never sold an item on eBay before, step-by-step instructions can be downloaded [here].
If you've ever sold an item on eBay before, there's not much more to it than that – just a couple extra boxes to check during the normal listing process. For more information, download the step-by-step instructions [here].
Sellers benefit from eBay Giving Works because their items are more visible to buyers, and because buyers like to bid on items that benefit charitable organizations. eBay charges sellers a small fee to sell their items, but when you sell your item through eBay Giving Works and donate 100% of the proceeds to EWC, eBay will refund 100% of your basic fees. Sellers do pay a small, nonrefundable PayPal fee, equivalent to $0.30 plus 2.9% of the item's final selling price
